What Certificates and Qualifications Does Al-Quran Academy Issue?
Al-Quran Academy issues two types of credentials: a Course Completion Certificate awarded upon finishing any of the 9 courses, and an Ijazah — the highest credential in Islamic Quranic education — available for Tajweed, Hifz (Quran memorisation), and the 10 Qiraat courses. An Ijazah is an unbroken chain (Sanad) of authorised teachers traceable back to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), granting the holder permission to teach the Quran. Earning an Ijazah typically requires completing full memorisation (for Hifz) or mastering all recitation rules (for Tajweed/Qiraat) and passing an oral examination with a certified Sheikh.

What Is Ijazah? The Sacred Chain of Transmission
Ijazah (إجازة) literally means "permission" or "license." In the context of Quranic sciences, it refers to a formal authorization given by a teacher to a student, certifying that the student has mastered the Quran (or a Qira'ah) to a high standard and is permitted to teach it to others.
What makes Ijazah unique is its Sanad — an unbroken chain of teachers tracing from the current teacher back through history to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) himself, who learned from Jibreel (AS), who received it from Allah (SWT). This makes the Quran the most authenticated text in human history.
Requirements for Ijazah at Al-Quran Academy:
- 1.Complete memorization of the Quran with perfect Tajweed (for Hifz Ijazah)
- 2.Recite the complete Quran from memory before an Ijazah-holding teacher
- 3.Pass the teacher's evaluation of pronunciation, Tajweed, and Waqf
- 4.For 10 Qiraat Ijazah: demonstrate mastery in each of the ten recitation methods
